Villa Paaslo

Example of sustainable construction

Anyone familiar with Amersfoort knows that it is fairly flat, except for one hill. At the top of 'the mountain' stands a beautiful red house. From this house, you can admire the impressive view over Amersfoort. It is a real house, just like a child would draw it, with a pointed roof and a chimney. Yet it looks contemporary and modern with its dark window frames, white frames, and wooden facade screens. The distinctive red brick with red mortar completes the picture.

Sustainable example

"My whole life revolves around sustainability," says client and owner René van der Borch tot Verwolde proudly. "When I build something that has to last 100 years or more, I believe it should move with the times. Villa Paaslo is the result." With sustainable features such as integrated south-facing solar panels, rainwater infiltration, a ground source heat pump that regulates the heating of the house, gas-free living, and the smart placement of facade openings, the building is an example of sustainable construction.

Spacious interior with impressive details

When you enter, you immediately notice the enormous amount of daylight. Thanks to the large dormer window on the top floor and an open staircase, which has been designed with millimeter precision, light can penetrate deep into the home. The layout of the floor plan also makes the home feel very spacious. The living areas are arranged around a core, which houses the wet rooms, installation rooms, and storage areas. These rooms have a wonderful connection to the outside, culminating in the enormous sliding doors to the backyard. The design of the fixed furniture in the house also enhances the spaciousness of the home, for example through the long wall units that run the entire length of the house. In our opinion, this house is an asset to the Amersfoortse Berg neighborhood and can easily remain standing for another 100 years.
