A broad and open perspective characterizes us at SVP. In everything we do. Whether we are working on a large- or small-scale design project. Something we have done before or a completely new request. We integrate all our newly acquired insights, four decades of experience, personal strength, and knowledge into everything we do. It goes without saying that there is cross-pollination between urban planning and architecture within our agency. It makes our plans better, more complete, and more valuable. And it leads to mutual respect, because only then can you get the best out of each other.
We have been active in the design profession for forty years. The world—and therefore our world—has changed in recent decades: it has become more complex, more parties are involved in projects, citizens have become more vocal, local politics is now truly local politics, and attention to sustainability, circularity, and the environment now occupies an essential and self-evident place, including, of course, at our company.
"Complex may sound difficult, but we don't see it that way."
We are privileged to have a team of architects, landscape architects, and urban planners under one roof. With different nationalities and different characters. We don't know any better; we think this is the most normal thing in the world. But we also realize that this is not so obvious. This cross-pollination makes our plans better, more complete, and more valuable.
Our approach is characterized by a broad and open perspective in everything we do. We go to great lengths to 'hear' everyone, to involve them, and to listen carefully. We continue until there is mutual understanding of each other's points of view, putting ourselves in the shoes of those for whom we are working. We see it as our task to get the best out of all partners involved in creating a new living environment.
We don't design for ourselves, but for the people who will live, work, learn, and recreate in our plans. In other words, to live. This generation and future generations. We are deeply aware of this. Everything therefore depends on the support of the future residents, the municipality, or the neighborhood, for example. With so-called SVP Pressure Cookers, which we deploy at strategic moments in the process, we get the best out of the parties involved and ourselves.

Complex may sound difficult, but we don't see it that way. For us, it's actually where things start to flow. It may mean that we bring all the conflicting interests together in a positive way. Or that we come up with smart ideas to stay within the financial parameters of our assignment, while still proposing a surprising and appealing design. There is always a good solution, even if it seems very far away.
Our craftsmanship ensures that what we design can also be built. It will be a feast for the eyes. True beauty lies in the details. That applies today, but as far as we are concerned, it will also apply in 100 years' time. We believe that a building should last at least that long. These times, in which new, more sustainable materials, techniques, and construction methods are constantly being developed, fuel our boundless curiosity and eagerness to learn. BIM is a natural way of working for us and helps us in our craftsmanship. BIM is a broad concept and everyone interprets it differently. We tailor our services to the wishes of our clients and/or builders and make clear agreements about expectations in advance.
What has not changed in the more than forty years that SVP has been in existence is that we have remained dreamers and will continue to be so. This will also be the case in the next forty years or more. Yes, we too have visions of future-proof cities, beautiful neighborhoods, and flexible buildings that we can walk past with pride. But our dreams go even further, to living environments in the future that you can hardly imagine today. We love to bring the imagination closer with our spatial visions. Does that sound complex? Not at all, it's the only way we can do it. And want to do it. And do it. Because it makes everything and everyone better. A little bit more each time.
